When are the dream home open houses?

We are putting the finishing touches on the dream home! The dream home will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 1 pm to 4 pm starting on November 3rd. See full list of opens houses below:

How old do you have to be to participate in the Dream Home Lottery?

Participants must be at least 18 years of age. Tickets cannot be ordered in the name of a minor.

What are the odds of winning?

The odds of winning depend on the number of tickets sold. All inquiries, if any, on the odds of winning are to be made to Bluewater Health Foundation prior to the purchase of tickets.

How many prizes are included in the Dream Home Lottery?

10,973 prizes will be awarded in the Dream Home Lottery. The total value of all prizes drawn is $1,687,825.76 including applicable taxes and freight (where applicable). One (1) prize will be awarded in the 50/50 portion of the Dream Home Lottery. The total 50/50 prize drawn is dependent on the total number of tickets sold. The absolute minimum 50/50 prize drawn is $150,000.00.

How many Dream Home Lottery tickets are for sale?

A total of 160,000  Dream Home Lottery tickets will be available with a maximum of 150,000 tickets available for sale and 10,000 tickets won as prizes.

 

How many 50/50 tickets are for sale?

The total tickets available in the 50/50 draw are unlimited with half of the pot being awarded to the winner. The absolute minimum 50/50 prize drawn is $150,000.00

How can I purchase Dream Home Lottery tickets?

Tickets will be available online or by calling our toll free number, 1-844-667-3251.

Acceptable payment ca be made by Visa, MasterCard, Visa Debit, MasterCard Debit, and cash (in-person only).

In-person sales will be accepted in Bluewater Health Foundation’s office, at the Dream Home and at community events. Follow along on the Bluewater Health Foundation Dream Home Lottery social media to stay up to dates on sales locations.

How much are Dream Home Lottery tickets?

Dream Home Lottery ticket prices are: 2-pack for $50, 6-pack for $100, 16-pack for $250 or 35-pack for $375. Bundles are available for purchase containing Dream Home Lottery tickets and 50/50 add on tickets. Mega Bundles (6 Dream Home Lottery tickets and 30 50/50 add-on tickets) for $150, Max Bundle (16 Dream Home Lottery tickets and 60 50/50 add-on tickets) for $300 and Mega Max Bundles (35 Dream Home Lottery tickets and 150 50/50 add-on tickets) for $500.

How much are the 50/50 tickets?

50/50 tickets are 2-pack for $15, 6-pack for $30, or 20-pack for $60.

What is included in the Dream Home Lottery packs (Mega, Max, and Mega Max))?

Bundles include both Dream Home lottery tickets and 50/50 tickets with a discount! Mega Bundle includes 6 Dream Home Lottery tickets and 30 50/50 add-on tickets for $150. The Max Bundle includes 16 Dream Home Lottery tickets and 60 50/50 add-on tickets for $300. The Mega Max Bundle includes 35 Dream Home Lottery tickets and 150 50/50 add-on tickets for $500.

How many names can be on a Dream Home Lottery ticket? 

All packs/bundles must contain the same purchaser’s information, with up to a maximum of three names, and will be mailed to the primary ticket holder (the first name that appears on the ticket).

*All transfer of prizes must happen independently of the Dream Home Lottery. Bluewater Health Foundation are not responsible for any disputes arising from a failure or refusal to transfer winnings and prizes, nor will they mediate or negotiate any settlement should a conflict arise. The primary ticket purchaser will be considered the winner.

How long does it take to receive my tickets?

If you are purchasing tickets online or over the phone with an email address you will receive your tickets immediately by email following your purchase!

If you do not have an email address and are purchasing tickets over the phone tickets will be mailed to the address provided at the time of order within 7-10 business days.

Instant tickets are also available for in-person sales, with or without an email address. Visit Bluewater Health Foundation’s office or the dream home during open houses (see open house schedule).

Ticket purchasers may request a physical copy of their ticket(s) by calling customer service at 1-833-208-4387 or by emailing bluewaterhealthcs@mnp.ca.

I have not received my ticket and/or it contains an error?

Please call customer services at 1-833-208-4387 to correct any errors.

Can I request specific ticket numbers?

No, tickets will be issued in sequential order.

I have deleted the email and/or my lottery ticket. Am I still eligible for the draws?

Yes! You do not need your tickets to claim your prize. Your ticket details are recorded in the database along with your ticket numbers. If you would like a replacement ticket, please call toll free1-833-208-4387. 

I do not have an email address. How do I purchase a ticket?

You can purchase tickets without an email address over the phone by calling 1-844-667-3251, visiting Bluewater Health Foundation’s office or at the dream home during open houses.

Tickets purchased over the phone will be mailed to the primary ticket holders address provided at time of sale within 7-10 business days.

I didn’t order my 50/50 tickets when I ordered my Dream Home Lottery ticket, can I still order them?

Yes! You can order 50/50 tickets over the phone by calling 1-833-208-4387, visiting Bluewater Health Foundation’s office or by using the TOP-UP tool.

What is the TOP-UP tool, and how do I use it?

If you have already purchased Dream Home Lottery tickets and forget to get 50/50 or just want to buy more tickets, you can do that easily and conveniently online.

The TOP-UP tool allows you to pull up your original purchase and add more tickets to your order.

You can either scan the unique QR code on your ticket, enter your order number or provide your email and postal code to locate your original order.

Can I gift my Dream Home Lottery tickets?

Yes! Dream Home Lottery tickets make great gifts. Purchase tickets in the name of the recipient online or over the phone by calling toll-free1-844-667-3251.

What happens if a bad payment is received?

If your credit card is declined or your cheque is returned to us by the bank, you will be contacted by MNP LLP and given an opportunity to provide replacement payment (Visa or MasterCard) within two business days. Any tickets issued will be considered invalid until replacement payment is receive

Do I have to have a Dream Home Lottery ticket in order to play the 50/50 draw?

50/50 tickets can only be ordered in conjunction with Dream Home Lottery tickets. 50/50 tickets will not be accepted without the purchase of an original Dream Home Lottery ticket order.

I didn’t order my 50/50 tickets when I ordered my Dream Home Lottery ticket, can I still order them?

Yes! You can order 50-50 tickets by calling 1-833-208-4387.

*You must have a Dream Home Lottery ticket purchase in order to participate in the 50/50 draw.

Can someone who lives outside Ontario buy a ticket?

 The lottery is intended for Ontario residents only and is licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

Ticket buyers must physically be in the province of Ontario at the time of purchase. Purchases can be made at Bluewater Health Foundation’s office or at the dream home during open houses. Tickets cannot be sent to addresses outside the province of Ontario.

Who is not eligible to order a ticket?

The following and their immediate family members who live in the same household are prohibited from purchasing a ticket: board members and employees of Bluewater Health Foundation and Charlotte Englehart Eleanor Hospital Foundation, members of the Bluewater Health Board of Directors and executive team, members of the Dream Home Lottery committee, the respective builder and decorator of the Dream Home, partners and employees of MNP LLP and its affiliates, and members of licensed gaming suppliers providing services to the program.

Is my ticket purchase tax deductible?

No, lottery tickets are not tax deductible as per Canada Revenue Agency.

Do I have to pay taxes on any winnings?

No, lottery winnings are considered a windfall and not taxable in Canada.

If I win the Dream Home do I have to live in it or can I sell it?

Once the home is awarded to the winner, they do not have to live in it. Any prize won can be sold if the winner wishes to do so. The title for a home may be registered in anyone’s name. We recommend that you contact a tax or legal professional with specific questions.

Do I have to take the prize or can I just take the cash?

Prizes must be accepted as awarded, except where indicated. Please refer to www.bwhfdreamhome.com for a listing of prizes and/if a cash option is available.

How do you draw the winners?

Ticket fulfillment and draw control services are provided by MNP LLP. A certified random number generator (RNG) will be used to conduct the draws. For questions about the draw process, please call toll-free 1-833-208-4387.

How are winners notified?

The primary ticket purchaser will be notified electronically through email or through mail, by Bluewater Health Foundation as to what they have won and where/how to claim their prize(s). Major prize winners will be notified by phone. Winner’s names will be published on Bluewater Health Foundation’s Dream Home Lottery website, www.bwhfdreamhome.com.

If I win an early bird prize, is my ticket still eligible for the other draws?

Yes! Winning ticket numbers are eligible for all subsequent draws.

How long do I have to claim my prize?

Prize winners are asked to claim prizes in a timely manner following notification. Any prizes which are not claimed shall be secured for a period of six months from the date of the draw. Unclaimed prizes will be reported and a charitable allocation will be approved by the licensing body.

I won a free ticket, what now?

Congratulations! The primary purchaser will be sent the free ticket(s) in the same format that the original ticket order was received (either electronically through email or through Canada Post). Please allow between 7-10 business days for delivery.

How will the proceeds from the Dream Home Lottery be used?

Thanks to supporters like you, over the past 29 years, Bluewater Health Foundation’s Dream Home Lottery has raised more than $9 million dollars for Sarnia-Lambton’s community hospitals, Bluewater Health and Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital of Bluewater Health.

Proceeds from the Dream Home Lottery have made it possible for the hospital to purchase much needed equipment including: an MRI, CT scanner and a mammography machine.

A portion of proceeds from this year’s Dream Home Lottery will help to fund the redevelopment of Bluewater Health’s cancer clinic. Learn more about the cancer clinic redevelopment at Bluewater Health, here.
